I was in a rush so didn't get to check specs, etc. but watched the sample clip. That is one great looking and sounding machine. This is the Qousimo with the Flames on the cover. $1,499.00.
That thing is HEAVY. Could be a nice DTR but wouldn't want to carry it around all day.

It is rather heavy, and kind of ugly looking. Pink flames don't flow on a laptop.

Fixed. Never seen a toshiba (besides when they were pretty much the only convertibles on the market) that impressed me in the least.

the red theme and the red flames kinda killed the laptop, it had great specs, but come on, if i took one of thoes to class i would get the same looks as if i would have taken a laptop with a picture of power rangers on the outside cover.

ur looking at the flames in a highly convoluted, generically processed, conventional perspective from society today. flames, come on. i know what ur thinking, oh, trying to look cool. flames, big deal. theyre not exactly flames anyway, but more of a different design, albeit similar. ur not trying to boast with "red flames", theyre just "red flames" making a big deal out of it just because of societys' perspective....is stupid. just my rant, lol

If the flames bother you (and actually I think they look pretty neat- and no they aren't pink per se), then you can always use custom decals.

At first looking at it on display in Best Buy I kinda thought "uuuggghhh!" I sure didn't like it. But now that I own one and seeing it in mint condition (not the abused display one) it has grown on me and I'm in love. I'll bet when the x205 first came out and how much positive feedback ppl were giving of how great it looked Toshiba took that into account and tried to out do themselves with a Flashier look for the X305 and to me they hit it. Not just with the looks but the internals and extras like sound system. And they did it while making it affordable for ppl. It reminds me of a Ferrari. I'm always here at Starbucks cause I want to show it off and I've gotten so many complements and stares like "wow! nice" Anyway it grows on you and you'll be captivated. I know I am.

ha i carry this thing everywhere, and took it to class. i get everyone in the class comming up and looking at it. everyone likes the look of it, as do i. the red really stands out, and the glossy keyboard looks amazing. the speakers have a nice design to it as well.

also, i dont know why people say this thing are heavy. its only 8+ to 9 pounds. i can manage this but this is just me. if you want the power, you gotta lift a few pounds more :)

You know Toshiba learned alot from their experiment with the x205 as their first gaming notebook line. And with this x305 they refined what they learned. This isn't as heavy as the x205 sli1, Toshiba used lighter quality materials for the build, it's more powerful, it's cheaper because they took out extras that's not really needed on a gaming notebook like the fancy touchpad and extra usb ports, The HD DVD drive, etc. And reading the gateway forum I hear alot of complaints about defects on the P-7811 FX. So yeah I'm happy.

Most of the P-7811FX complaints are small and fixable. Most people that create a hundred threads about the same topic, aren't too tech savvy.

xtyfyb so how you like the p-7811fx? I was kinda thinking about getting it but chose the x305 instead. I got till Sunday to return this but right now I'm kinda happy.

Well, I love my P7811FX. The only complaints I have are:

    - Flex on palmrests - keyboard
    - Speakers are no where near Toshiba quality.
    - Video card overheats if you don't prop up the back.

All these things are fine for me because they are all small. If you are happy with the x305 then enjoy it! There is no reason to "Fix something that isn't borken".
