Does anyone know the rating of the screen brightness for the Qosmio? specifically the 1080p display. Thanks. How do toshiba screens compare with HP's ultra brightview from the dv8t?

1080p screen is about 150 NITs. Pretty dim, but it's because of very vibrant color (about 90% NTSC gamut).
HD+ screen is visually brighter (not sure about exact value), but colours are quite subdued - about 50% NTSC. -
I couldn't tell you about "NITS" or anything like that. I can tell you I keep the brightness around 3/4. I use it indoors, in a well lighted room with "natural light" full spectrum type of bulbs. This combo leaves me with less eyestrain after staring at the screen 10 hours a day (or more).
Not sure if that helps. Not a very good comparison to the dv8t.
