Hello i have just bought a toshiba A20 satellite notebook. Whenever i plug in the ac adaptor.....the screen is bright and when i unplug it and just run on the batteries...the screen gets dimmer. im thinking its one of those power saving features...is there any way i can make it so it will stay bright. thx
BTW are the A20s getting old? how long have they ben out for

After you unplug the adapter, just increase the brightness Fn+F7, this should save into "memory" so the next time you unplug it will be at the modified brightness.
If this doesn't work, you can also try changing your power management settings on the notebook. Just hit Fn+F2 a few times to goto the High Power Mode (picture may popup, it should be the yellow one in the middle).
All this info is available in your manuals, if not available, goto the Toshiba website in the support section, you can download the manual for this unit.
I believe the A20 models first came out in the beginning of 2003.
