Hello I have a newbie question. I've read from numerous threads that some people prefer the resolution of WSXGA 1680x1050 over the WUXGA (1920 x 1200) resolution. People say that they prefer the WSXGA because the WUXGA might display the fonts too small to see on laptop lcds. However, my question is if you go with WUXGA can't you just change the resulution down to 1680x1050 from windows destop menu so that the text will look bigger? So if you have WUXGA wouldn't you have best of both world? thanks

changing to anything that isn't the native resolution causes it to appear oddly. Because you will still have the same number of pixels on the the screen, all those pixels are just attempting to act as if they are less, and it can't do so perfectly.

if you reduce the resolution, they gonna be less sharp but i don't really mind. IMO1920x1200 can easily be read in its native form, i acctually quite like the large screen real estate, never found reading to be hard, and you can enlarge the dpi if your dont like (slightly) smaller text, try it for a week, and i'm sure you get used to it. btw, in windows vista they will probably (in fact i'm quite sure) that they will support this resolution more; to the extent of maintaing "normal" 1440x900 characteristic, but with smoother resolution of the 1920x1200.
