    I purchased the Best Buy Portege r705-35 and the glossy screen reflections are driving me crazy - is it possible to replace it with a matte screen and, if so, how difficult is it? I haven't had good luck with matte screen film sheets over glossy screens in the past so I would prefer to change out the screen.

    Get the R700 service manual from here and start dismantling your R705 to see if the basic hardware is the same. If it is then search for an R700 display. AFAIK the R700 is matte since it is the business version.
