My A135 S4467 computer screen goes completely black then back on and black again and back on in about one minute after I boot up. It's only black for an instant.
    Why?

    Hi Jack772,

Couple of things you can do to check on this:

    1) Did you try connecting an external monitor to the laptop? If there is no black screen on the external monitor, it could be a problem with your laptop.

    2) Does the black screen appear when, say, you put the laptop to sleep or hibernate? Sometimes that happens when you're switching back and forth between an active and passive screen.

    Hope this helps.

What OS? This may be the system checking for an external monitor.

The operating system is Vista. No, I don't have a spare monitor.

You don't have to, but the system will still check. You can try this tweak and see if it fixes it:

-Open the Start Menu and type task scheduler to open, well, Task Scheduler  ;)
-In the left-hand column, navigate to Task Scheduler (Local)>Task Scheduler Library>Microsoft>Windows>Mobile PC
-In the center column you will see TMM. Select it.
-In the right-hand column, choose to disable the operation

That might do the trick. The only downside to disabling this is that if you start up with an external monitor, Windows probably will not recognize it automatically, so you may to use Ctrl+F8 (or whatever hotkey it is) to switch.
