There is something wrong with the screen on my Satellite A215. For some reason, it seems to randomly flicker and turn off for extended periods of time. the screen backlight remains on. It does this in safe mode, and even in the Bios. Ive noticed that if i leave the computer off for a long time, then i can maybe get half an hour of use out of the screen before it starts misbehaving again. I have tried re-installing the drivers, but that didn't help. Does the screen need to be replaced? Is there somewhere I can go to see a tutorial to do that on this laptop? I do actually know a lot about computers and my dad is a computer engineer. I guess that he could fix it but I want to try to do it on my own. It seems like this laptop gives me nothing but trouble.

Is the screen off or can you still see a faint image? If it's the latter, the inverter board needs to be replaced.
