    Hi,
I have a Satellite 1415 s105 model. The monitor has been acting up recently. I plugged in a different (desktop) monitor and have the same problem. I'll describe the symptoms as best as I can. Sometime the picture is terrible, the resolution is at 4. WhenI try to change it to 32 only sometimes it works. When it does work, that is at 32, from left to right I get about 200 vertical line from top to bottom equally spaced. When it is at 4 there is alot of purple and the resolution is terrible. I guess this is expected at 4. When windows xp is starting up I get brown stripes but this goes away once my desktop comes up. I though that maybe the monitor went but then again I have the same problem when using another monitor. I first went to Toshiba's website and download a new display driver but this did nothing
Any idea as to what is wrong would be appreciated.
    Steven

Probably a problem with the graphics card or the drivers, try booting into safe mode and see if you can use it, if you cant it's likely a hardware issue. If you can access safe mode, roll back the drivers using device manager.

When booting up, press F8 and select safe mode.
