This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Seeking users' experience re R600's durability, etc.

    There's been some very good discussion of the Portege R600 at the R600 roundtable thread, and great input from notaguru and others there. But as someone who's considering buying this unit, I'd still like to try to get additional info from any other R600 owners out there. I'm especially interested in how durable you find it, since I will have it on the road a good amount and it will double as my desktop. (My needs are pretty basic, in terms of email, word processing, internet access, and managing what will be my pretty basic personal website.)

    Any other impressions re the screen quality, whether it generates a lot of heat or other aspects, positive or negative, would also be welcome.
