I have a problem with my A75-S206. To start everything off, my first battery died and I replaced it with a brand-spankin' new battery. While I let that charge over a course of many hours, I came back and wanted to use it. Well, when I turned it on, the charging battery light all of a sudden turned off. When it booted up to my desktop I looked at the battery icon and noticed it was slowly discharging.

I immediately shut it down and carefully turned the adapter plug to find the so-called sweet spot, since I had a problem similiar to this before. It was still tight and not squeaky loose. I turned it back on and all the lights remained lit, but the battery light turned off after 20 or so minutes and started discharging again. After a few more tires, I gave up let it charge some more over and tried again this morning. It's still doing the same thing from last night.

While I do have access to other computers within the household, I rather use mine. Since, I can't go out a buy a new laptop at this very instant, I'd like to know what the problem is before I before I start pulling my hair out again. :)

    Thank you.

    Ryuusaki,
the a75 series of laptops does NOT like ANY 3rd party batteries. If you are using a 3rd party battery, please return it and purchase a Toshiba battery.

On a side note, it sounds like the DC jack (where you plug in the AC Adapter) has cracked solder. This is easily fixed if you have some basic solder skills and are willing to take apart the laptop (its relatively easy)

    Thank you MaxxxRacer!

Fortunately, it's an official Toshiba battery. So, even though, it's still tight I'll still need solder it a little more?

Rereading the post and now knowing that you have an origional Toshiba battery i am 99% certain that the dc jack needs to be resoldered.

Its not the jack itself that breaks. Its the solder connection between the jack and the motherboard that breaks. This is a common problem with this laptop.
