I have a Toshiba Portege R200 that has a half-height drive in it (Enhanced IDE, 1.8", 8.0mm, 60 MB, 4200 RPM). I'd very much like to increase capacity and seek time. But all the notebook drives I've found at online resellers are 2.5" 9.5mm, which I presume will not fit in my notebook.

Anyone know of a source for the smaller drives?

    Thanks

It is very hard to find a 1.8" HD, to find one I would look at technology webshops like Newegg. But you will not find a 1.8" with higher capacity of 60 GB (you can get 80 GB but it is very expensive).

Maybe this is one component where the UK has a good supplier of these components (but I bought a 1.8" HDD from one of the other major online retailers a few months ago).

ZipZoomFly has some 1.8HDs here, but they're only 20GB HDs.
