I posted in the free software forum, fishing for any negatives, on using the StartUpLite program.

I have used this for a month and it made a big difference over my standard boot times, nearly half, over stock Toshiba 750G drive. Sorry, no benchmarks made, but will stopwatch for any with like hardware.

I found StartUpLite, free, on the Malwarebytes site. It's automatic and reversible. Any other users? Any thoughts yea or nay?

opps, forgot to post what it's doing..

'StartUpLite allows novice computer users to speed up their computer`s load time by disabling or removing unnecessary startup entries safely and effectively. The program scans for a few dozen programs that are found on many computers but are commonly deemed unnecessary and can be safely disabled to speed up the load time of your computer. StartUpLite does not delete any programs, it only disables their auto-startup registration, which can be undone later if needed. Some of the programs it scans for include Adobe Gamma Loader, IgfxTray, TkBellExe, SunJavaUpdateSched, QuickTime Task and many others. StartUpLite also provides a short description for each item to help you decide which ones you want to disable or remove."

I've used the program before and thought it functions pretty well.
However, I went back to my old school way of disabling startup items by way of msconfig.

    Good info :)

Yea, it did "in one fell swoop" what used to take me hours to do with msconfig  I got lazy so I gave it a shot, just one restart
