OK this is the deal. I opened my laptop up to solder the power jack that came loose. Which is still not fix because it came loose again. But this is not the problem. The problem occur after I put the laptop back together, and turned it on. When I turned it on a black screen comes up saying:

No Bootable CD In ATAPI CD-ROM

    Intel UNDI, PXE-2.0 (build 082)
    Copyright (C) 1997-2000 Intel Corporation

For Realtek RTL8139(X)/8130/810x PCI Fast Ethernet Controller v2.13 (020326)
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
    PXE-MOF: Exiting PXE ROM.
    Press any key when ready....

Even after I press any key the same thing comes up. Can anybody tell me how I can fix this? Thank you!

Open up BIOS and revert back to default settings?

I'm not sure if that will help but that shouldn't do any damage. It's worth a try.

I am having the exact same problem with my Toshiba M45. A black screen with white writing comes up saying

For Realtek RTL8139(X)/8130/810x PCI Fast Ethernet Controller v2.13 (020326)
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
    PXE-MOF: Exiting PXE ROM.

I have a restore disk but if I go back to default settings it says it will erase everything on the hard drive. I don't want to do that if I don't have to. I have backed up everything I absolutely cannot lose but still have some pictures and documents that I would like to keep. I can't get it to do anything beyond this screen. When I hit a key it just repeats. Solutions?
