I'm getting these ODD characters - they seem to be some sort of screen or menu numbers, in some programs. Satellite P200D-PSPBQA-017001 with VHP - please see attached - red '0' in the corner. Anyone know what they are or how to turn them off?

Did you install a program called FRAPs, by any chance? That looks like a FRAPs frames-per-second readout to me. FRAPs appears only in programs that engage the 3D pipelines of the graphics subsystem.

    YMMV.

Haven't installed FRAPS no but your mention of it maybe the think - I did have ATI Tools installed so that I could knock-out the use of off-board memory by the graphics card. Checked into that that and yes indeed it has an on screen fps display included - knocked that off and the problem is gone.

    Thanks for the reply!
