You will just have to try it and see @ what speed it will run stable. Does your pc have BIOS overclocking or will you have to use software? Software CPU overclocking can be problematic because it loads the clockspeed at startup and if the speed is not stable your computer could freeze up every time you start it. You can boot to safe mode and uninstall the software though.

But Bios sounds great becouse you have wrote Software CPU because it loads the clockspeed at startup and if the speed is not stable your computer could freeze up every time you start it.
    Is there any other diffrence?

BIOS overclocking will be totally dependent on whether or not the manufacturer enabled it. If they did it is the preferable method to get the job done.

I have P8600 on my asus G50vt, and I OC it to 2.9 perfectly stable. You can
overclok your cpu 10-15% stable :)

Not sure if you are using the correct PLL - your FSB which I assume you are attempting to OC is going to be the first # - 150.6, 155, as seen in pics above. Your FSB is obviously 266 - So I think you may have something wrong. As I said, the PLL likely isn't correct. That program can really harm your rig if not used properly - There's no real "How-to" cause it's pretty straight forward. If you follow the guide Red Dragon gave, then my thread should explain it a little bit. But, first you'll need to find the proper PLL and go from there. PM me again if I can help.

I didnt use the Qosmio to overclock the T9600. I never could use the PLL to overclock my 701. Apparently, there is an OEM lock on the FSB, which isnt present on my whitebook. If you notice in my pic a page back, that the rig in the pic has two ATi HD3870s in crossfire, not presently available in the Qosmio line.

Hi, I am very interested where you get the ATi HD3870X2?
and how you install it on X305??
I own a X305 Q701 and wanted to do the similar upgrade as you.
    thx =)

My 3870 X2 is in my Whitebook. Just to clarify, any upgrades from Toshiba and I mean, any upgrades, have to be from Toshiba's proprietary tech only. Currently there is not an option to upgrade the videocard in the 701, hence I will be selling mine.

I will be selling my Qosmio X305-Q701 (10250 points in 3dmark06), with secondary fan mod, and a T9600 Core 2 Duo for $900.00 plus shipping. It has the stock hard drive and Windows Vista Home Premium. I'll let you know when I post the "for sale", thread.

wonder how you can score 10250 with X305 though,
I have a stock one, even with OC it's like 5XXX only.
Is the CPU affect that much??
    If so I'll get a QX9300 LOL...

I have an overclock to the video card. I am able to run a higher overclock and remain stable because I added a secondary fan inside the case, that plus overclocked memory timings, vista optimizations/tweaks, a fully defragged and optimized HDD, etc. All of these things have led to one of, if not the highest scoring Q701 in the community.
I had it up to 10250, but here is the last screenshot I took before I bought my whitebook...... http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v...My Qosmio/?action=view&current=3dmark06t2.jpg

The fan mod.... http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v720/christopherquinalty/Qosmio Mods/ , notice anything different?

I'm afraid I break the card if I OC it too much...
I do have an external cooling fan
(I don't think it's better then your mod-in fan but it does do it's job)
Do you remember the highest OC you get on Q701?
I think I can use that as reference (the highest limit OC of 9700GTS.)
Actually I have no success on OC CPU.
Try alot of PLL but didn't work at all.
(And if it's still T7350, I don't think OC ram would have much difference)

    Want to ask,
with all this changes, what do you think that would affect the most?
    and
How much does the CPU affect the performances?

I've been thinking to replace it to a better one,
(but some say if it's only a little upgrade,
you won't even notice any different)
having a hard time to think if it worth the money,
also can't decide which CPU I should go for.
    (T9400?T9500??T9600???X9100???QX9300????...retail,oem,qs,es...etcetc)
More I think, harder to decide..

For the OC, it's been a while but I'm sure I go t it to 685 core, 1085 memory, and 1875 shader clock. As for the SetFSB, Toshiba seems to have put a lock on the FSB anyways. CPU is great for benchmarks, for gaming, in order to notice a difference, you would have to go 800mhz or higher, or the tope dog, the QX9300. I have one on the way. However with that in mind, the GPU has a way bigger impact in the performance of games, but it comes to a point where if the processor is too slow, it becomes a bottleneck, or traffic jam as I heard it today.

    Yes,yes. bottleneck.
If the only think I wanna is break though the bottleneck of Q701,
which one you think I should go for??
(Because when the other's become the bottleneck instead,
I have no reason to get a more expensive CPU)
    Thanks =)

Well if you have any questions, please feel free to pm me or ask in that thread, so when i tell u specifically, other people can read it too :)
but its a lot of tweaking, optimizing, and overclocking with the graphics card. an nzxt cryo lx cooler is highly recommended. this thing is amazing.

WOW the ram OC is amazing though
I haven't change anything except the ram OC.
    (Oh sightly increase 9700 OC to 685 1085 1875)
and 3Dmark06 Basic score have increase 3000!! (8222)
(This time I even test without using cooler, and after test the GPU is 63C)
    BTW
is that normal the P7350 CPU test 1 & 2 have fps 0 to 1 only?

Yes it is normal. As for the OC. I went back through my old pics and found that I OC'd to 710/1100/1900, for my last bench run. I'll do another run on the Qosmio in a few days, and get back to you. Waiting for my QX9300 so I can put the T9600 back in the 701.

and thanks cq...8653 is as high as i have been able to get this thing, i dont think it can go much higher unless i upgrade the hardware.
glad you got a higher score, 8222 is perfect for the q701.
