I tried registering my laptop, but it looks for a Toshiba Registration.msi file that it cannot find. I ran a hard drive search and cannot find it either. Please offer some solution so I can successfully register both my Windows and laptop.

The OS that comes with the unit does not require registration. It's been modified by Microsoft/Toshiba so that this is not necessary. The retail versions of XP require you to Activate before you can use it.

The notebook registration should be able to be done over the phone. This just lets Toshiba know when you bought the notebook for warranty purposes, but if you have the receipt/invoice that indicates the purchase date, then you should be fine. The serial# contains a date code integrated into the serial# to show date of manufacture, so they can also base it on that, but it may be off a few months (date made, date shipped, date stored in warehouse, date sold all adds up). But call them and register anyways, just in case it's required where you are.
