Looking to pick this up. Having trouble finding reviews on it. Any thoughts?
In relevant part, I am looking for an 11.6" laptop/netbook that is reliable. I dont do any gaming, will just use this for surfing the web, music, doing some work (Word, Wordperfect), photo editing, and watching video files/streaming. Size of the hard drive is not particularly important, but would like a screen without a ton of glare. Would like something relatively light, but does not need to be uber-light..
How is the touchpad on this model? Build quality? Odd question, but is the power jack on the left, right, or back... Hard to tell form photos
For what I will be using it for, should I just get the S1140?
This newbie would appreciate any thoughts!!!!!!!!!

I have the earlier model (T115D-S1125) and have been very pleased with it. Screen is nice, keyboard is very good and responsive. I replaced the HD with an SSD and its totally silent now. Performance and battery life are very good. The newer models (T215) have more of a funky texture to them that is really nice and kind of artsy. Not many technical differences for the most part... some updated AMD or Intel components (depending on the model you pick).
I would definitely get the 1150 over the 1140, as the second core actually makes it a bit snappier, and for the $30 difference, seems well worth the money. -
Hi,
I have the T215D-S1150 and I have to say that overall I am quite impressed by it. I have to be completely honest, if Lenovo would have updated the X100e to include the Neo II K325 or K625 before my return window was up I would have returned my T215D. That's not to say that I don't like the T215D but it does have a few things that I really don't care for. The screen is glossy, that's what for some reason manufactures think consumers want. Also, the viewing angles are really restrictive especially compared to my T60 15 IPS and my T60 WS. The keyboard is nice but some keys are not responsive. My guess is that I'm not hitting them in the right spot since they are island style. I dual boot with Ubuntu and almost everything works right out of the box. I am having a problem with the internal microphone, it doesn't work under linux. The power cord is on the left. One thing I really like is the placement of the pgup and pgdn keys (to the right of the right shift key and the up arrow). The weave pattern i really could do without.
Overall I would recommend this model especially for anybody looking for a small solid laptop that doesn't have crappy intel graphics. I also get about 4 hours of battery.
Good luck with your decision.

Can you pls tell us which version of Ubuntu did you install (32 or 64 bits?)
Many thanks -
32 bit ubuntu - Windows 7 is 64 bit.
To get the microphone working - you need to install the following.
sudo aptitude install linux-backports-modules-alsa-lucid-generic
