My friend has a satellite M60. It is about 2.5 years old and it has recently been overheating and shutting off.

Why is it doing this? We tried compressed air through the vents and while quite a bit of dust did blow out, it is still overheating (though not as much), and shutting down.

You might have to open up the laptop to give the fan and the heatsink a thorough cleaning.
