Some time ago Toshiba moved away from Matsu**ita DVDRW drives to Pioneer but the newly shipped Toshibas have TSST drives. From a quick online search I found out that TSST is made by Samsung. Anyone knows how TSST compares to Pioneer? Is it being installed now because it's just cheaper or it's actually better?

Also, when I tested them in a store, I noticed that both TSST and Pioneer failed to read exactly same few folders from three of my CDs burned by Plextor. They show up just fine in all other DVD/CD drives I tried. It's quite a puzzle.
