Hey, I was just looking around through my Toshiba the other day and came across Tablet PC Settings in the control panel.
It talks of input devices, stylus and everything.

Does this mean I can use some sort of tablet functionality with my computer if I got a stylus?

I really can't remember the exact model of Satellite I got, but I bought it for about +/- $1000 a little over a year ago. Specs:

    Core Duo 2.0Ghz
    2g Ram
    140g HDD
    Dvd Burner combo drive
    etc

    Thanks

If you are talking about Vista...Tablet PC software is installed by default. However, your laptop has to be a Tablet PC in order to actually use it.

I'm guessing you do not have not a Tablet PC.

To add life to a dead thread, you may need to plug in a pen device before Vista offers you pen functionality on a non-tablet laptop.

The x205 SLI1 default factory install/restore of Vista Home Premium offers no pen or tablet software (Sticky Notes app w/drawing, pen Control Panel, pen input window, etc). However, Vista's pen and tablet utilities appeared the first time I plugged in a Wacom tablet, and they remained available without the Wacom attached.

EDIT: it appears I mistook some Wacom software for Vista utilities, but the base message is unchanged: the Toshiba factory restore does not activate pen software, although it is available should pen hardware be attached.
