I bought a Tecra 8100 for a friend of mine, and he now seems to be having some trouble with it. After booting the computer, within anywhere from 5-30 minutes, the screen goes black, and it will only turn back on if you press the button to simulate the lid closing/opening. I have checked power saver options and can't find why it would be doing this. The only thing I can think of is that the battery is no good, and unable to power the monitor after it is dead. We already know the battery has problems. The computer doesn't even work unless it is plugged in. We are planning on replacing the battery, but we aren't sure if that will fix the problem, and we don't want to invest that much if the problem won't even be fixed. Can anyone offer ideas?

    Thanks,
    Bruce
