This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Tecra A10: blu-ray with external drive?

    I have a Tecra A10 with a DVD drive (not Blu-ray), purchased in December 2009. I want to add an external blu-ray drive via the e-sata connector, add an external monitor, and see if I can watch blu-ray disks. I am aware that blu-ray has some requirements on the video hardware. (For instance, an older desktop of mine apparently lacks the necessary hardware.) Anyone here know if the A10 has the necessary hardware?

    I could also call Toshiba technical support about this, but before I wait on the phone only to talk to someone who is clueless, I thought I would ask here.
