Hi all, I hope somone can help.
I purchased a used Tecra A3. With Win XP Professional, service pack three. I did not get any discs with it.
It has been working well until a week or so ago. It has very low volume, I have the volume and wave levels set to max. The manual volume wheel on the front has no effect, it used to work
I think the problem started when I downloaded FLV files from youtube, then I downloaded a program ('super' was the name of the program) to convert the FLV files to AVI files.
I have uninstalled the converting program, I could not get it to convert anything. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the sound card driver - AC97 Realtech sound card. I have uninstalled and reinstalled WMP11. None of this helped.

I was thinking performing a system recovery to try to fix the problem.
My question is, if I perform the system recovery, to the get back to the out of box settings, will it erase the WIN XP operating system?

Thanks for any help received, Darren.

Just do a system restore to the time prior to installing that stuff, that should take care of it.
