Scott...so what do you think about your A5?...have you had any free time this week to tinker with it yet? I think you received it by now.

I hate to be a pest, but would love to see your first impressions...nothing comprehensive, but just your initial feel for the new lappy

I plan to order one early next week and would hate to waste the 3-4 weeks of receiving and then return time if the A5 isn't up to expectations...

I was able to play with the A5 a little this week between work, a math final and a major bathroom remodel. Build quality is excellent. Not an IBM but much better than any Dell or HP I've come across. Screen is very nice too. Fairly quick for a 1.73. Keyboard flex isn't too bad but the lower right has an issue for sure. Nothing that a folded piece of paper probably couldn't fix. I didn't test the sound or watch any DVD's. The installed software is lame. I can't believe all the useless software that was installed, especially on a business notebook. The fan noise is what made me return this laptop. on/off every minute to minute and a half. I use my laptop in a very quiet room and it was just too annoying. If you can get over the fan noise which is a low pitch noise and you can't hear it with some background noise then it is a nice laptop. It just wasn't what I was expecting for $1300. I am holding out for the IBM Z series.
