Can anybody confirm if the bluetooth option is a usb or internal module? I am debating between the Tecra A5 and the Satellite M40. Also if anybody has any insight on either model, I'd appreciate it.
    Thanks

If this option comes from the manufacturer, usually it would be an internal module. If it's an external USB adapter, that means that the unit is completely incapable of supporting an internal bluetooth module (doubtful for these new units).

Nice. I was just a little suspicious because any other Toshiba that I configured had no Bluetooth antenna only or Bluetooth v1.2 as the options. on the A5 it was either Bluetooth v2 + EDR or no Bluetooth. I can personally tell you when it comes if it is indeed internal.

Bluetooth v2.0 + EDR is the new standard that was recently approved. It provides 3X the bandwidth vs older Bluetooth versions. Below is the link.

I think when it said that there's no Bluetooth Antenna, it means that there's no internal antenna (link for wireless), so inorder to add bluetooth to the system previously, it might require the module and an internal antenna. But for the new systems, maybe they leave the antenna in the system, but just don't include a module (which would be easier for upgrading).
