Basically i have a laptop that was used at my dad's work place, and he used to logon to the network , is it network boot? So anyway we cant logon at home because it can only boot when at his old office. So I wanted to format everything and install a fresh copy of xp onto the harddrive, but it wont boot from my xp disc! It reades the disk and a cursor thing just blinks but then it tries to boot again via the old network. Any suggestions please??
    thank you

It wasn't a network boot before... it was just logging on to a domain. Change the domain at the bottom to "Local Machine" or "This Computer" or whatever it is.

If you want to reformat it, you'll need to change the BIOS boot order to have CD first.
