Hey! I just checked the prices on the Toshiba M2, and they've gone up close to 200 dollars!!! What's the deal with that? Does anyone know why? Thanks!

Well at least I don't feel like I'm going insane any more. I keep checking the site to see if the Dothan's been released, and I noticed this price raise too! (I thought maybe I was selecting something wrong).

Something's seriously wrong though, because the base is still starting at 1399 like it was before....Im confused!!

    inflation maybe ? [ ;)]

Actually, due to cost of certain materials, especially batteries and screens which are highly dependent upon availability of certain chemicals and materials that fluctuate a lot in price (cobalt, lithium) prices can and do go up on older models. It's never a good move for a notebook manufacturer to do this and they'll do everything in their power to keep prices the same, but if they get to the point where profit will be too slim then up go prices. Obviously aware consumers will balk...who wants to pay $100 more for a notebook than what it was the day before? Nobody.

Could this have anything to do with the switch over to the Dothan processor (which should be happening within the next two weeks)..?

That's an awful large jump in price for material costs. I'd expect smaller incriments..but I'm probably wrong...
