Hi, I just bought a new Tecra M4 with a 80g SATA hard drive.
The intel Chipset ID Util correctly IDs the chip as:

    Detected Chipset:
Mobile Intel(R) 915GM/GMS/PM Express Chipset family

    Chipset Components

    Memory Controller:
    Mobile 82915GM/GMS/PM

    I/O Controller:
    Intel(R) 82801FBM I/O controller hub ( ICH6M)

but windows device manager displays the disk controller as:

    Intel(R) 82801FBM Ultra ATA Storage Controller - 2653

    Should it not read as:
    Intel(R) 82801FBM SATA AHCI Controller

How do I get the system into AHCI mode like the intel site says?

The drive performance scores way low on every benchmark utility I run. Always way lower than the ref SATA drives. Is this because the controller is running in standard ATA mode instead of SATA 150 mode?
