Has anyone heard anything positive about this new laptop or even the M8 series?

UPS is holding mine hostage until the 5th. I'll be sure to post up some thoughts and pics once I get my hands on it.

We're all standing by, waiting for the UPS truck with you! A key question I have: What are the dimensions, particularly the depth? Is it really 11"? And if so, what makes it so deep?

I'll do a full review in the next couple days, but in the mean time, these should help directly answer your question:

The 11" measurement is spot on when using the 12 cell battery (as pictured). The standard batteries don't extend beyond the case, and therefore the depth measures 9.75".

    Hope that helps!

Ah! Yes, that is helpful, and it confirms my suspicion that it couldn't be so deep otherwise. Thank you for taking the effort to present those measurements. I'm looking forward to your review.

Oh, CV, we are eagerly awaiting some notes from you on your M9 experience. If you are delayed in getting out a full review we'd welcome your initial impressions. Even a "Wow!" or a "Good Grief!" would help us with our purchase decisions :)

Any updates? Considering one of these, and interested the build quaility, keyboard, and any heat issues.

I like to compare this side by side with the D630.

Is the palm rest warm on the M9?
