Hi every1. Am considering getting a 2.0 GHz core duo Tecra M5. All the specs seem great, only problem is the graphics card - the NVIDIA Quadro NVS 110M. ANy ideas if its good for 3-D graphics and gaming? Any 3DMark scores or something?

Found this link to the Quadro's spec list - http://laptoplogic.com/forums/showthread.php?p=14998

Can anyone decipher it for me? Is the Quadro equivalent to, say, the Nvidia Geforce Go 7400?

And lastly - Tecra for personal use - good idea? Coz its made with the business user in mind...

    Thanks! :D

Your exactly right, it's made for business use, with the ability for light gaming. Nvidia's website says it uses a 64-bit memory interface, and my 128MB ATI X600SE card has a 128-bit interface, my card scored around 1400 stock on 3DMark05, so off hand I would say that a 128MB Quadro would score less and around 1200ish. I haven't seen any hard numbers, but it may get up to 1500 with the 256MB version. I wouldn't recommend it for playing FEAR or any of the new FPS games if you want high frame rates, but it would work fine for WOW and HL2 at decent frame rates. Chaz would probably know for sure, you can PM him if you want ChazMan421 is his I.D. tell him jenson sent ya ;)

Well, u can consider this post closed - the Quadro NVS line is for business application and 2-D graphics - multiple displays and the like. Says so on Nvidias own website. Duh! Should've checked there first.

Well its not suitable for gaming - thats all you need to know!

the M5 or the Nvidia 110 with 128 Meg does play a lot of the 3d gfames. I've played Battlefield 2 and doom 3 and it is pretty good, better in fact than my geforce 5500

It is certain that Nvidia Quardro is not a card designed for gaming but is still compatible with game applications?

For example, can we assume that with Nvidia Quadro I am able to play something like Civilization 4 or HL 2 without problems?
