I have Tecra A7 model # PTA7OU-01T00C with an 80gb 5400rpm hard drive. I am looking at upgrading to a 500gb 7200rpm Seagate Momentus FDE hard drive. What are the pro's and con's? Will I have a problem with overheating? Should I consider a 5400rpm drive instead? What other concerns are there?

I don't overheating would be a problem. But I think your notebook uses the IDE interface, which means that you will need an IDE HDD, SATA will not work.
