    Hi gang!

Newbie here but die-hard Toshiba buyer. Matter of fact I still have my Toshiba Satellite110CS and it still runs perfectly! Still have my Tecra 730XCDT and need to fix the system board but it ran fine for almost ten years!

    Now onto the Qosmio G15!

While backing up files before having to send it to Kentucky for a system upgrade ( don'tcha hate that? ) the monitor goes out. Toshiba says not to send the unit in with sensitive or personal data on it so in this day and age of identity theft and bs I'm trying to save and clean the drives. So now in order for me to get my data from the laptop to a backup drive I have several options:

1.) Have both hard drives removed and duped
2.) Buy new hard drives, swap, keep the old ones til it's repaired.

You wouldn't believe the prices I've been quoted for this nonsense. For a few dollars more I can buy a brand new G15!

Anyone have a smart solution to this dilemma?

Have you tried a external monitor?
