Hey everyone,
After reading "Laptop beeps randomly" i decided to join this forum and share my knowledge with the rest of you cuz it seems like im not the only one who experienced this and still experiencing it from time to time.
This beeping noise is coming from some of the "hitachi HTS541060G9SA00" 60GB 5400rpm HD only.
This is something u should worry about because your hard drive will most likely crash at anytime soon. You should replace your harddrive with a new non-hitachi 60Gb or any hitachi HD other than the 60Gb 5400rpm.
A month ago i had the same problem but never cared until one night the mouse froze and after restarting my M70, i was not able to login into windows anymore. I got both my hard drive and mainboard replaced and i still get the beeping noise.
I decided to call toshiba today for support but the guy didnt seem to knw wut he was talking about and actually asked me to call them again when it beeps again hoping that he'll get to hear it even though it is a 1-sec long and it takes more than 3 minutes to get to talk to a representative.
I will call them again and ask them if its possible to upgrade my HD to 80Gb.
let me knw if this helps, and good luck to you all.

I forgot to add that i have 3 friends who have the same laptop as mine since almost a year, satellite M70, but with 100Gb HD and they never heard this beep noise we're getting every a little while.

That was really useful to other people almarid, well done. I don't use a Hitachi 60GB 5,400 though, I use a Toshiba 80GB 5400rpm HDD.

Thanks for the info Juz_Follow_ATI .. I guess it happens to some Hitachi HDD then, most of them happened to be 60Gb. I'll call them today and ask for a different HDD.
I'll keep you updated -
Not me updated, keep everyonw else here at NBR updated!

I have a Toshiba MK1237GSX 5400RPM HDD and I still get random beeps
I don't think its coming from the HDD
