    Thinking of buying a Toshiba A70-ak1

    With 512mb of ram,dvd-cdr, 40g, 3.06 processing speed. Does anyone have any knowledge about this comp and would be willing to share. I will be using it for work, am in sales. As well will be using it for downloading music, movies and such. Not much of a gamer. Any help wouold be useful.

    If you're in sales, I'm gonna assume you may have to be on the road with your unit. If this is the case, the A70 will not be your best choice. It's big, heavy and doesn't last too long on batteries. I'd recommend getting a Pentium M (Centrino) based notebook. They are smaller, lighter and last WAY longer on batteries (approx 4-5hrs on a standard 8 cell battery). Maybe a M30/M35 or a Tecra M2.

    Hey venom thanks for the advice. I ended up buying the a70.. got a really good deal on it. But my sound doesent seem to work. Gone through all the regular protocals to fix it, still nothing. It started off just doing it once and awhile and i would reboot and thus it would start working again. Now it wont turn on no matter what. Even with a cd/dvd or just playing music through windows media player. Any help would be appreciated. thanks

    dont buy it
    I know its cheap and looks great.
    but the static problems are horrible.
    the sound is crap.
    going to bed now.
