I really don't understand which one is better they both seem to have the same specs except the m45 uses the centrino and the a75 uses the regular pentium 4 so would that make the a75 faster ?!?!?! but the a75 is cheaper ?!?!? both have 512mb ram 80gb hd wifi dvd burner ?!?!?! can someone help me choose between the two ?!?! tell me pros and cons ?!?!?! i've been reading all nite about the centrino and i still don't understand why it's clocked slower but can be as fast as the regular pentium 4 ?!?!?

I can't really help you out a lot. All I can say is don't buy an A75, you will probably regret it. There have been countless cases of the A75 freezing up. I read about this, but bought one anyway (an A70 which is the Canadian model of the A75) and about one month after I bought it, it started freezing up. I don't know much about the M40, but I'm looking in to buying it.

I can tell you that if noise is an issue, when I was at Circuity City I was able to hear the fan on the A75, even through all the music. The sales rep said that it was because the Pentium chip generated more heat and the fan was running more constantly...just something to consider.
