Hi, I just bought (in Ireland) a Toshiba Sarellite PRO P300-19Q.
As I have not need of the copy of Vista and any other software installed (I'll use exclusively Linux ), I would like to obtain a refund for the copy of Vista installed. Did anyone succeded doing that? How should I proceed?

I say this because in my experience (with Acer), I had the option of buying the 5920 with Linux or an OS of my choice (XP Pro OR Pre SP1 Vista...any version). I opted for the Linux model becoz it was cheaper. Then I got an OEM version of XP Pro (in the first instance) from Acer...they installed it for me with all the relevant drivers and made sure it was working fine. About a year later, I felt my HDD was going to die (as it turns out, it did not!), so I bought a larger capacity HDD and went to Acer and bought an OEM version of Vista Home (with SP1). Again, Acer installed it and made sure it was working fine. Aside for paying for the software (in two cases) and the HDD, I did not pay Acer for anything else.
I just as easily could have ISO'd Ubuntu (only linux version that I have played around with) and have installed that.
Maybe you can do the same thing?
Edit: I should add that I got the OEM versions at a discount directly from Acer...I know someone who works there...so that helped a bit...
