Comments on upgrading Toshiba Laptops from XP Home to & XP PRO. How hard or even possible.

Most retail laptops come with Home and I will need to upgrade at some future date.
    Thanks

Very easy...just boot from your XP pro disc and you're off. I did this a couple months ago without any problems.
I actually did install the xpress media player first but if I was to do it again I wouldnt bother. I never use it myself.

    Good luck

If you just want to upgrade the OS (without loosing all your data), you can just insert the XP Pro CD into the drive (while in Windows) and it'll ask you if you want to upgrade.

If you don't care about loosing all your data (or whatever is on the drive, then just boot off the CD as Mekong recommended and follow the steps. Format the HDD to NTFS and your set.

Personally, I'd recommend using the Boot from CD method as upgrading may cause compatibility problems. Plus, you will clean out all the junk that was installed by Toshiba.
