    Hi!

I have a touchpad problem with my Toshiba Satellite.
Touchpad doesnt work, but when I put USB in, then it works with a regular mouse. I installed every driver I could, but still doesnt help.
I would appriciate any help I can get about this problem.
    Thank you, guys.

is it showing up in the Device manager? Mine says "Synaptics PS/2 Port Touchpad". If NOT, then you have a hardware issue, and might have to take it somewhere.

If it does show up, then I'd go into the synaptics mouse settings and make sure you haven't accidentally disabled it.

Do you have any bootable CDs that go into a graphical environment with a mouse pointer? Like recovery disks, or else you could burn an Ubuntu Linux live CD and boot from it, just to see if the touchpad works there? If it did, it would rule out a hardware problem and narrow it down to a driver issue.

EDIT: I'm not suggesting doing a system restore or installing Ubuntu over your existing setup, just go far enough to see a mouse pointer and whether it moves, then take the CD out and restart.

Check to make sure it is enabled in the BIOS. I can't imagine how it would have got disabled, but it seems like a good place to start none the less.

If it is in the Device Manager, does the "Device Status" say, "This device is working properly" or something else?
