    Toshiba 2450 cannot use recovert cds

    Ever since I took my laptop to service. I am unable to use the toshiba restore cds, it says not a toshiba laptop.

    Take it back to them and have them update your DMI. I believe it's part of the BIOS where this info is stored. If your motherboard was replaced, the DMI needs to be updated so that problems like this will not occur. The recovery CD's check the BIOS/DMI for Toshiba specific info before it'll allow for a restore. If it doesn't find it, it'll fail. They should not charge you for this as it's Toshiba's policy to update the DMI when a systemboard is replaced.

    The main thing is that dmi wasnt changed. Its only the hard drive, that was changed.
