My toshiba 2500 laptop has the lcd holders broken, therefore the lcd cannot stand up or be fixed in a position, it just opens all the way down. Does anyone know any toshiba laptop that is close to this version, that might have the lcd levers the same. Or can recomend me a retailer when I could find parts for it.
    Thanks

You can goto any Toshiba Authorized Service Centres located anywhere around the world. Just check the list on the Toshiba support site (should be listed there). You can also try eBay to see if you can get the hinges.

I'm assuming the problem you're having is with the hinges and that your LCD will just flap around, either all the way open or all the way closed. If nothing else seems to be broken (LCD cover or LCD bezel), then you should just be able to get the hinges and replace them. The only thing I can see that may be difficult is opening up the unit and replacing the part. For hinge replacements, you're gonna have to take apart the LCD and the top half of your system in order to get to the hinges. If you had a service manual for this Toshiba, it will make things easier, but these aren't readily available to the general public. You may be able to find them on Kazaa or some other P2P program.

I'm gonna assume you have one of the older Toshiba Satellite 2500CDS notebooks (light grey) or am I incorrect. Well, hinges will probably cost $150-$200CDN (guessing). Then you also have put labor charges on top. It might just be cheaper to go and buy a new notebook, you'll get more use from the newer unit for a longer time period.
