Lost my original boot disk for my laptop (Toshiba 5205-S705), which I
purchased new two years ago. Toshiba says they don't make it anymore. My
hard drive failed, so I had to BUY a retail version of Windows XP for $100.
The original operating system was actually Windows Media Center Edition,
which is not sold in retail version.

I have the license number for the original OS, so I would not be cheating
anyone. I feel like Toshiba and Microsoft have cheated me.

The thing I miss most right now are the Toshiba power controls. My notebook
screen will not run at full brightness, even on AC.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Willing to pay expenses plus.

    Thanks!
    Marcus

Can't you just download the Power Controls software from Toshiba's website?
