I've contacted Realtek and Toshiba on this one.

I have a A100 PSAA9C-TA902C. I bought the unit because of its power, video and audio specs.

I'm a Systems Analyst, developing software, connecting through VPN, writing music, AutoCad, etc.

I never expected this handicap. The Audio Input Device list doesn't allow me to record from Wave or SW Synth. These devices are available on the Output list. Which means, I can't record written music, played through the mixer. I'm able to do this on any computer I've worked on.

Realtek simply excused their support "they don't support the ALC861 Stereo Mixer". That's it. I can't believe a machine dedicated to audio and video such as this unit with Windows XP MCE.

Has anyone experienced this? Or do you have a suggestion on how to get around or through this problem?
