Hi I have the A100 toshiba it seems to work good except there are times when I shut it off the power light and the lights on the front stay on, and the fan keeps running I have to unplug it and take out the battery to shut it off, does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?

I also have sometime this problem with mine. I found two solutions 1) using Norton System Works 2003 to solve the errors (59 after a fresh install of the WinXp Home) 2) Log off from your session and them the shut down should work

Do you close the lid after you enter the shutdown command? If yes, try to wait until the notebook is off and close the lid after. If you close it before, the notebook tries to enter sleep or standby mode (depends on settings, it can be set to no action) and hangs....
