Apparently different versions of this mb have different DC power connectors. There are 3 mb's used in the A105 from what I've found. There's the S2000-S23xx which uses the ATI 200m chipset, the S27xx uses Intel 915gm chipset, and S4xxx uses the Intel 945gm chipset. Now I haven't seen the Intel 915gm mb but I do know the mb connector on the dc cable is smaller than the 945gm and the ati 200m(bought it by mistake) and the pin on the dc connector itself the same size on these 2 so you can use the same power adapter on them, but the 945gm dc connector pin on the mb power cable is larger than the other 2, so the power adapter doesn't fit. I can't believe Toshiba would pull this CRAP! There is no info anywhere online about this so hopefully this post will help others who may run into this RIDICULOUS problem that Toshiba obviously found to be relevant.
I have 7 different models of toshiba laptops and the SAME ac adapter works with ALL of them. It's bad enough they made 3 different mb's for this series, and I can understand different dc power cables with different colored wires, but I can't believe they would change the diameter of the damn dc connector pin on one of these when they all use the same voltage power adapters. I've never had this problem on any other version of toshiba laptop as I have with this thing. It's costing almost double to upgrade this laptop for a family member now that I have to buy a new power adapter for it also. I've been working on Toshibas almost 14yrs now and have never seen a series with more than 2 mb's.
Does anyone know for sure if the lcd pinout is the same, if not then I'm calling it quits on this thing, or if the dvd drives are set differently(master or slave)? I have to ask coz you never know with this PITA model series. Oh, and I already know the battery is also different.
