I have this problem with this laptop and today i was thinking of trowing it in the trash.

i have no idea why the laptop stop working, i press the power button and no sign, the only sign i get is when i plug in the charger, the charging light turns on.

this morning i sat to use my desktop and saw the laptop's power light on, i opened it and it was on, (turned on by itself), i got excited because today i was going to trow it in the trash but suddenly the thing was working, too bad it only lasted 20 minutes on then shut off again to never turn on back like before.

as i said the only thing now is the battery charging light sign's on. i don't know if its the battery that needs to be replaced or what, any ideas?

Don't throw it in the trash.
Laptops 8 yrs old and not working shouldn't be thrown in the trash.
They can be sold for parts.

It sounds like you have a loose power jack.
Does it wiggle when you plug in the AC adapter and jiggle it a little?

If so you could get it repaired for under $100 if it's worth it to you.

Otherwise sell it on ebay for parts.
