Pleas somebody help! My screen will not stay on. It comes on for 30 secs and goes off and I never see it again. I had to purchase another laptop (another Toshiba! was that a smart move or what?) because I use it for my online classes. Someone said I could transfer the info from one laptop to the new one, but I can't see the screen to see how the transfer would be progressing. I have a file transfer tool "The Tornado", but I'm so lost with what and how to get my info. Plus I have 2000 + pictures on there too. Any help or suggestion would be so appreciated. Should I take it to an authorized Toshiba dealer (its off warranty) ?

    thanks

Do you perhaps, maybe have an unused monitor lying around somewhere? You might be able to connect it to the laptop, and right click into display properties, and allow you to view your laptop in it. Then transfer the files. Thats probably my best solution. If that seems too difficult, or you just can't locate a monitor, or for some weird reason the monitor thing doesn't work, then a Toshiba dealer would be a good idea. ;)

Good luck! Same thing happened to my old thinkpad... major pain in the rear.
