I am thinking about buying the Toshiba A105-S4094 from BestBuy at the following link:
    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...t&productCategoryId=cat01174&id=1149205023122

I was just wondering if this is a good deal? Also does anyone own this and can give me any opinions? It seems like a really good deal to me coming with the core duo processor and 1.5gigs of ram and a 120 gig hd. So what do you all think?

i will be using the laptop for surfing the net, music, photos and very very light gaming. nothing that the integrated graphics can't handle.

hey, i purchased that laptop yesterday from a BestBuy in houston...so far i have no gripes about it, screen is vibrant with good brightness, keys feel light ( for me thats a good thing, some don't like it), runs smoothly and if you're using it for pictures and music and such you'll love the Media Center Edition features...i know i do...if there's anything specific you wanna know just ask and i'll get back to you on it, not sure what all to tell you...i'll be loading Battlefield on it sometime today just to see what the integrated graphics can handle not expecting much but we'll see...hope that helped

I was thinking about getting one too.

I have a question though. Do you think it is worth going out to get or should I wait until sunday and see what the new sales are?

I don't think BB will drop that notebook's price further until we see the advent of the Core Duo 2 CPUs due out this August.

As far as media remotes go, as long as you have the remote/reciever and the reciever is hooked up to the notebook, I see no reason why one wouldn't work.

I just bought the Toshiba Satellite A105-S4094 and I am quite happy with it so far. I have been having a problem that is becoming bothersome. From time to time the window I am viewing minimizes and restores without my control. Is this something that anyone else has experienced?

I have the same problem...when i click on the page i am viewing it some times minimises..i guess it is some problem with the touchpad.

and regarding remotes..do we need to have the receiver ..cant it be done only with the remote.

So, if I'm buying now and not again for 3+ years, would it pay to hold off until the first part of August? I need my new pc to be running by August 15th. Do these new processors offer that much of an advantage?

Just purchased the S4094 yesterday and discovered what causes the minimizing/restore.... on the touchpad if you tap on the upper right hand corner it will cause the window to minimize. If you tap the lower right hand corner it will toss the window to your taskbar. May be more there that can be done.. but so far that's what I've discovered. Play with it.. it's fun!

    Hi guys and gals.
Just recently purchased the Toshiba Satellite A105-S4094 in the States before i returned to Australia. It works great so far and i especially like the TruSurround sound. really good compared to my old laptop. although im not looking forward to the dust problems that alot of people seem to have with the toshiba satellite notebooks.

Back to my immediate problem. The contents of any CD/DVD that i put in seem always be shown. Whenever i change discs the old contents remain and i cant open any files in the new disc because it wont show. This is really annoying when i watch multiple disc shows.
Has anyone experienced the same problem or know of a solution.
I cant determine if its a hardware or software problem.

    Do let me know. thanks
    Aiden

Hey, do any of you know if this laptop has PCI slots inside? I do not want to risk having to open the laptop. =[
