Hello, i am looking to buy an A200 laptop. It has HD2600, however it always says 256mb SDRAM with 1023mb hypermemory, What is SDRAM? How does it compare to DDR2 and GDDR3?

    Also are toshiba hardrives 4200RPM , 5400RPM or 7200RPM?

User experience is very much welcomed... =)

SDRAM is Single datarate random access memory as opposed to DDR which is Double Datarate RAM basically ddr has twice the bandwidth, but I doubt that a modern graphics card, even a lappy one would have SDRAM.

Toshiba has laptops with all hard drive speeds...

Why don't tell us the model number you're interested in...

Yeah, but it's got capacity. Plus you can always upgrade the drive yourself.

im guessing since yours is a ddr2 hd2600 that this model will most likely use the same chip?

This is what's listed for the A200GE-26Q on Toshiba's site:
    manufacturer : ATI
    type : ATI Mobility™ Radeon® HD2600 supporting HyperMemory™ technology
memory : 256 MB dedicated VRAM (up to 1.023 MB total available graphics memory using HyperMemory™ technology with 2 GB system memory)
memory type : DDR Video RAM (resp. DDR Video RAM and DDR system memory combined)
connected bus : 16x PCI Express

It's the same as all the HD 2600s in Toshiba's A2XX series. It has DDR2 clocked at 400mhz (800mhz effective).
