Does anybody know how to replace the HDD on a Portage A200?
Does it involve lifting the keyboard?
    Will any 2.5" HDD work?

Thanks in advance for your help

    Nathan,

If you have one of the units, you should be able to see if the underside has a compartment that houses the HDD. If not, then you would need to remove the keyboard and possibly the palmrest/top cover in order to get to the HDD.

I can't give a definite answer on where the HDD is located as this model isnot available in Canada, nor is there a model in Canada that comes close to matching this unit.

Try checking the service manual. The procedure should be covered there.

    Thanks for your replies.
I think I have located the drive bay, although there are now visible screws, I think it will be a matter of lifting the keyboard, which is also required to install extra memory.
Does anybody know where or if the service manual is availabe online and free of charge?

    Thanks again

I'd try Toshiba's website first or contact them if you can't find it.
