I was reading reviews on the various permutations of the A215 series and feel like I still can't tell if there is any especially great version the 215 or if there is one to stay clear of.

    Any thoughts?

well, i believe the intermittent screen shut offs have been solved.
I like the 305d, as well as some of the newer 215's....
just try to find reviews on bestbuy or circuitcity.com, check for heat...
I know Hp's with amd's run hot, or so I've read...
BUT, if you dont game with it, Like I would never do, (I believe in console gaming), anyway, I think if you spend hours like 90% of the readers here, heat won't be an issue.
